P.E.O. is a philanthropic organization where women CELEBRATE the advancement of women; EDUCATE women through scholarships, grants, awards, loans, and stewardship of Cottey College and MOTIVATE women to achieve their highest aspirations.
P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) was founded in 1869 by seven young friends who believed in the importance of women’s education,
P.E.O. is dedicated to continuing and promoting their vision of fellowship and philanthropy.
The organization now has over 5000 chapters throughout North America and 240,000 members.

Friendship is the cornerstone of P.E.O. - it is the legacy left by our Founders and it thrives in our unique Sisterhood.
Our purposes are charitable and educational and our outreach is to women worldwide.
P.E.O.s pride themselves on providing women educational opportunities and helping them to "Reach for the Stars".
